Martinique Rhum La Mauny Trois Rivières Duquesne Your Basket

The History of the La Mauny Plantation Estate

Installed in Rivière Pilote as of 1749, the La Mauny distillery bears the name of Count Ferdinand Poulain, Count de Mauny who disembarks in Martinique in the beginning of the 18th century. A former sugar plantation, La Mauny was capable of resisting the fluctuations and drop in sugar prices by orienting itself toward Agricultural Rum production.

Resold later to the Codé, and later to the Lapiquionne families, the estate was purchased by the Théodore and Georges Bellonnie brothers. As of the outset of the 70s, Mr. Théodore Bellonnie wished to associated the Bourdillon families to the development of the Rhums La Mauny company, and the firm took on the name of Bellonnie Bourdillon et Successeurs.
